Aaron Long

General Manager

Aaron has worked in the renewable energy industry for over two decades. As General Manager, Aaron is responsible for the overall performance of AREA, MEU decarbonization initiatives and relationships with stakeholders. Aaron has deep roots in Nova Scotia and enjoys coaching his sons’ hockey teams.

Marianne Peryer

Project Development Manager

Marianne is AREA’s Project Development Manager with an eye for details. Marianne has developed a keen acumen for business throughout her career as an entrepreneur, educator, and project developer. Currently dedicated to AREA’s solar project development, she is a talented manager with an incredible knack for focusing on specifics and delivering results. In her free time, Marianne enjoys relaxing with her friends and family on the lake.

Meg Hodges

Manager of Partnerships and Community Engagement

Meg is dedicated to ensuring AREA operations run smoothly. She possesses a diverse background as a former municipal councillor, entrepreneur, and operations manager. Meg has honed her facilitation and consensus-building skills while serving as the chair of the Kings Transit Authority and is currently a board member for Devour! The Food Film Festival, a director of the Sheffield Mills Community Association, and chair of the Glooscap Home and School Association. Meg and her two children love to grow flowers and veggies beside their six-acre pollinator meadow in rural Kings County.

Don Regan

Special Advisor

Don is a power line electrical technician by trade with over 46 years of experience in Utility and Energy Management and is a special advisor to AREA. He has been working with the town of Berwick for 42 years, 38 of which he’s has been involved in the Berwick Electric Commission. He was one of the founding members of AREA and continues to advocate for and drive the decarbonization efforts in Berwick and Nova Scotia. Don is the Superintendent of Berwick Electric Commission and is passionate about making a difference in his community.

Glen Bannon

Director of Electric Utilities

Glen has extensive leadership experience in defence, marine and public utilities environments. His core competencies include project/program/portfolio management, change management, and operations management with a keen interest in continuous improvement and organizational culture change. On the AREA team, he will provide leadership across the municipal electric utilities in order to leverage synergies, create economies of scale and improve efficiency. An avid triathlete, he has competed in eight Ironman events and the ITU Long Distance World Triathlon Championship. He also volunteers with the CNIB as a Sighted Guide and Vision Mate.

Hana Do

Project Management Administrator

Hana Do is AREA’s Project Management Administrator with a diverse background in project management, business analysis and product development across public sector consulting, clean energy, and digital banking. Her proficiency lies in fostering positive relationships and facilitating transparent communication with diverse stakeholders, balancing multiple priorities, and delivering results in tight timelines. Hana is responsible for AREA’s solar projects. Beyond her professional endeavors, Hana finds joy and relaxation in running, reading, and meditation.
